Larry W. Harris, 61, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at William Newton Hospital.
Born September 7, 1963, in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of Roy “Kirk” and Betty Ruth (Shields) Harris. He was raised and received his education in Rose Hill. Larry worked in construction and concrete work before beginning his career as a truck driver. He owned and operated his own trucking business for six years. He also drove a tour bus for the band Adema.
His family includes his children, Bradley Harris of Winfield; Brian McDade of Udall; Brandon McDade of Haysville; Melissa Watters of Sulfur, OK; Jordan Johnson of Overland Park; his siblings, Kevin Harris of Winfield; Jeanette Mohr of Rose Hill; Kenny Ray Geer of Rose Hill; Phillip Luginbill of Enid, OK; his grandchildren, Carson and Caden McDade, Jaxon, Rylin, and Stetson McDade, and Brody Lowmaster and Bentley Watters; and several nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a niece Jamie Lynn Mohr.
The family will hold graveside services at Rose Hill Cemetery in May. The time and date will be announced at a later date. Services are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.
