Linda Cheryl McLaughlin Hamner
1950---2024

Linda Cheryl McLaughlin Hamner, 74, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024, at her home.

Born February 8, 1950, in Genoa, Texas, she was the daughter of Samuel Nathan and Betty Jo (Spradlin) McLaughlin. Her family moved to different bases while her father served in the military while she was young. She studied nursing in school, receiving a degree as an LPN.

She married Thomas Hyland in 1968. To this union, two daughters were born. The couple later divorced. In 1972, Linda married Michael Wicker and the couple had a daughter. They later divorced. In 1981, she married David Bonham. To this union a son was born and the couple later divorced.

Linda was united in marriage to John Hamner on October 31, 2002, in Purcell, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Chickasha. Linda began her career as a nurse in the early 1970s. She later worked for 16 years at MPI in Oklahoma City before returning to nursing. She enjoyed crafting, reading, cooking, and traveling.

Her family includes her husband John Hamner of Chickasha, OK; her children Ann Hyland and husband, Brad Skal of Pennsylvania; Brenda Richardson and husband, Tracy of Columbus; Michelle Wicker of Chickasha, OK; Gary Bonham and fiance, Patricia of Oklahoma City, OK; Joe, Johnny, and Terrie Hamner; her siblings, Samuel, Cynthia, Maraline, Diana, Keith; her wards, Kaiden and Chloe Bonham; her 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, and many nieces nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a sister Teresa Shelton.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at New Salem Cemetery under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
