Linda S. Lumbert
1943 - 2025

Linda S. Lumbert, 82, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, October 3, 2025, at her home.

Born May 18, 1943, in Hardtner, Kansas, she was the daughter of Norwood and Roberta (Bryan) Freeman. She was raised in Lake City, Kansas and received her education in Medicine Lodge.

In 1958, she married Gerald L. Neighbors in Medicine Lodge. The couple had two children and later divorced. Linda began working at Binney & Smith in 1979.

She was united in marriage to Howard Byron Lumbert on July 17, 1982 at Hackney Community Baptist Church. Linda continued working at Binney & Smith for nearly 20 years, retiring when the plant closed in 1997. In addition to her career, Linda was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and homemaker. Howard preceded her in death on December 30, 2022.

She was a founding member of New Hope Fellowship Church and recently was attending Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, making pies, and traveling with Howard and friends.

Her family includes her sons, Morse Neighbors and partner, Donna McClain of Winfield; Ross Lumbert and wife, Jana of Rose Hill; her daughters, Lisa Chrisman and husband, Joe of Winfield; Gayle Walker and husband, Brad of Chandler, TX; her grandchildren, Hollie Neighbors of Wichita; Kelly Jacques and husband, Martin of Lawrence; Levi Chrisman of Winfield; Rebecca Chrisman and fiance, Brandon Beyard of Winfield; John Ross Lumbert of Andover; Jared Lumbert and wife, Sabra of Rose Hill; Rachel Love and husband, Eric of Rose Hill; Kaitlyn Lumbert of Lyons; Waylon Lumbert of Winfield; Sarina Proctor of Kingwood, TX; Celina Banks of Houston, TX; and her great grandchildren, Emmy, Abe, Lucy, Bryon, Kevin, Isla, Scott, Ruth, Case Howard, and Delena.

In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by a sister Pat Naasz and a brother Bryan Freeman.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Central Baptist Church in Winfield under the direction of Miles Funeral Service. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial has been established in Linda’s name for Central Baptist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
