Lowell Keith Eagan, 93, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away at his home on March 29, 2026, surrounded by his daughters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 3, 2026, at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Ark City. Memorial contributions in his name may be made out to Angels Care Hospice and left in the care of the funeral home.
Lowell was born on April 24, 1932, in Arkansas City, to parents Ray C. & Treva B. (Holdredge) Eagan. He graduated from Ark City High School and was shortly thereafter drafted into the US Army to serve in Paris, France, as part of the Signal Corps during the Korean War. After returning home, he married the love of his life, Joyce C. Gentry. Lowell worked at various manufacturing plants, including Cessna and GE & retired from Rubbermaid. In his free time, he enjoyed playing card games with his grandkids and Dominoes with his dad and brothers, for Lowell it was a regular family event that he cherished. He was also an avid New York Yankees and Kansas Jayhawks fan. One of his greatest gifts was the way he told stories; he made them come alive… and his stories will be deeply missed by his family.
Lowell is survived by his children, Keith Eagan, Mary Knox, Celia Fisher, grandchildren Brandy, Kayla, Lindsay, Jace (Ana), Jeffrey, and Matthew, his 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. He is surpassed in death by his wife, parents, granddaughter Lacey Nicole Fisher, and siblings Gerald, Jack, Maurice, Betty, and Verna.
