Lynn Ann (Emerson) Biddle, 74, of Winfield, KS passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 14, 2025, at First United Methodist Church in Winfield; a private family graveside interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Winfield Medical Loan Closet and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; donations may be left in the care of Miles Funeral Service of Winfield.
Lynn was born February 21, 1950, in Winfield, KS to parents Richard and Marilee (McKinney) Emerson. She graduated from Winfield High School with College Prep and Business diplomas. Lynn later attended Pittsburg State Secretarial Training. Throughout her teenage years, she competed with Winfield Swim Club, performed with the Winfield Synchronized Swim Team, taught swim lessons, worked as a lifeguard, and held offices in the WHS Pep Club.
Lynn married Richard Biddle on January 3, 1970. She worked at Union National Bank, Wichita, while Richard served overseas in the United States Navy. They moved to Bremerton, Washington to complete his naval duty. They later settled back in Winfield, KS. Parents of 3 sons and 1 daughter, Lynn got very involved in their various activities. Richard and Lynn were active in establishing the Winfield Youth Wrestling Club. In addition, she helped organize junior high dances at the Elks and Legion. Lynn loved being a wrestling mom for her boys and a cheerleading/swim mom for her daughter. She was an active First United Methodist Church member and served on her High School Reunion committee.
Lynn ran an in-home daycare while her children were young. She later began working at William Newton Hospital, where she retired in 2016 after 30 years of service. Throughout retirement, she volunteered at the Winfield Medical Loan Closet and her Church. She loved traveling and went on several Caribbean cruises, an Alaskan cruise, and made trips to Hawaii, and Guam. As often as possible, she traveled to her favorite locations in the Colorado mountains, where she loved hiking and enjoying the outdoors. Lynn and Richard divorced in 2000 but remained friends along with his wife, Sherry.
Waiting to greet her at her heavenly home are her parents, Richard and Marilee Emerson; grandparents, Paul and Marie Kidwell, Virgil & Flo McKinney, Dr. Ralph and Mabel Emerson; cousin, George Emerson; mother-in-law, Mary Biddle; father-in-law, Raymond Biddle; brother-in-law, Jerry Dean; and niece, Angela Biddle.
She is survived by her children, Brian & Cindy Biddle, Chris & Kimberly Biddle, Amber & David Benavides, and Tyson & Casey Biddle; ex-husband Richard & Sherry Biddle; siblings, Shawn Emerson, Linda & Mike Hiebert, and Randall Emerson; sister-in-law, Nan Emerson; her precious grandchildren, Brian’s children, Callie Biddle, Brianne & Christian Gordon, Trevin Biddle, Courtney & Myles Pruett, Tanner Cline, and Tate Cline; Chris’s children, Keaton Biddle, and Kenna Biddle; Amber’s children, GraceLynn Benavides, Lilli Benavides, and Korban Benavides; and Tyson’s children, Laython Biddle, Bryson Biddle, and Taden Biddle; great-grandchildren, Carsyn Pruett, Rhett Pruett, and Addison Cline; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her extended Biddle family.
