Marjorie Ruth Fox
1929 - 2025

Marjorie Ruth Fox went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 7th at her “Cumbernauld” home at the age of 96.

Marge was born the daughter of Alfred Manuel Craft and Corine Victoria (Linthicum) Craft on February 16th,1929, in Cambridge, Kansas, where she lived and attended school as well, graduating in the class of 1947 from Cambridge High School. After graduation, she continued working as a waitress at her parent’s café, the Craft Café. Sometimes she even worked at the Hillers Grocery store. Later in life, she decided to go to Cosmetology school to become a hairdresser. After graduating from school, Marge moved to Winfield, and went to work for the Bel Mar Beauty shop until retirement. Winfield is where she met her husband Don Fox, whom she married in 1966. They were married 48 years before Don’s passing.

Many people were recipients of Marge’s love for making Afghans, and embroidered items, everything from tea towels, which was a standard wedding gift, to embroidering a bedspread. She and Don loved to bowl, going to many state tournaments. They were seen at many rodeos, where bull riding was her favorite sporting event. Sports on the TV brought her much enjoyment, baseball and basketball, with KU being her favorite team. If you wanted to win a March Madness tournament, have her fill out your bracket form. If you wanted to know where Marge and Don were, look on their front porch and you would find them swinging in their swing, waving to passerby’s.

Marge was a real loving wife, mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. Family gatherings, grandkids’ ballgames, friends stopping by were also highlights of her life. Marge had two special nieces that she loved as if they were her own daughters, Lee Kunkle (Gary) Wood and Sharon Kay Kunkle (Marlin) Mason, who are also among her survivors.

Marge is survived by her Stepdaughter, Judy Flock; Stepson, Nelson (Barb) Fox; grandchildren Brady (Karey) Flock and Megan (Justin) Cates; and great Grandchildren, Noah Randolph, Aspen Cates, and Fallon Cates; between the Wood family and Mason Family, 30 other nieces and nephews that were close to her as well. Not to leave out, Marge and Don had their “adopted” granddaughters, the Dennett girls.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband Don Fox, parents, Alfred & Corine Craft, brother Robert Craft, and sister Violet Kunkle.

Marge loved the Lord, loved her family, loved her church in Cambridge, she never forgot her “Roots”, and is an example of a life well lived.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.

A memorial has been established in Marge’s name for the Cambridge Presbyterian Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
