Mary Ann Beers, 74, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 12, 2025, at Chisholm Place in Wichita.
Born December 19, 1950, in Aladarko, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Bruce and Macey (Coon) Medford. She was raised and received her education in Tennessee, graduating from high school in 1968. She attended college in Tennessee receiving a Bachelor degree.
She was united in marriage to John Joseph Beers in 1972. The couple made their home in San Antonio, Texas for 40 years. Mary worked as a kindergarten teacher for 16 years before transitioning to a librarian for three years and retiring in the late 1990’s. John and Mary moved to Winfield following retirement.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Winfield. She enjoyed watching game shows on t.v.
Her family includes her husband John of Winfield; and her sisters, Susan Smith and husband, Stanley of Richmond, VA; Kris Medford of New York City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 19, 2025, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery at a later date.
