Nicole Brown, 41, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
Born June 1, 1984, in Del Norte, Colorado, she was the daughter of Terry Lee and Janet (Gotte) Brown. She was raised and received her early education in Colorado before moving with her family to Burden, Kansas. Nicole attended Central High School in Burden, graduating in 2002. After high school, she attended Cosmetology school in Wichita.
Nicole worked for a short time as a hairdresser before becoming a CNA and beginning her career at Medicalodges in Douglass. After an on the job injury, she became disabled and was no longer able to work.
She attended New Hope Fellowship Church. She loved plants, both gardening and indoor plants. She enjoyed her time volunteering at the Nature Center in Arkansas City. Nicole also enjoyed animals, children, and spending time with family and friends.
Her family includes her fiance Jason Salem of Phoenix, AZ; her children, Alysa Helbing and husband, Dylan of Winfield; Xaviour Brown of Winfield; Tayquan Brown of Winfield; Tyvontay Brown of Winfield; her chosen children, Jacob Salem of Phoenix, AZ; Ryan Salem of Phoenix, AZ; Dakota Salem of Phoenix, AZ; Rajon Muldrow of Wichita; her parents, Terry and Janet Brown of Burden; her siblings, Joshua Brown and wife, Jessi of Anahuac, TX; and Kelli Eslick of Winfield; and her nephews, David Hillis of Wichita; and Brady and Kade Brown of Anahuac, TX.
The family will hold a come and go memorial service at New Hope Fellowship Church in Winfield on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M.
A memorial has been established in Nicole’s name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.
