Nina Jane Sutton
1943 - 2025

Nina Jane Sutton, 81, of Burden, Kansas, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center.

Born August 28, 1943, in Cedar Vale, Kansas, she was the daughter of Lloyd LeRoy and Hazel Blanche (Vincent) White. She was raised and received her education in Cedar Vale, attending Cedar Vale High School.

She was united in marriage to Jackie Allen Sutton on May 5, 1960, at the home of her parents near Cloverdale. The couple traveled all over the United States in the early years of their marriage, as Jack worked as a Jockey. They lived in many areas including Eureka, Kansas, St. Louis, Missouri, and West Virginia. During this time, Nina was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. In 1974, the family moved to Burden and Nina began working at Struthers Thermo-Flood where she remained for many years. She later worked for Central High School in Burden. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking, and entertaining friends and family.

Her family includes her husband Jack Sutton of Burden; her children, Linda Petterson and husband, Wayne of Chanute; Gary Sutton and wife, Stephanie of Ponca City, OK; Earl “Dink” Sutton of Eureka; his grandchildren, Thain Brobst, Chase Brobst, Tara Fry, Jasmine Lewis, Tracy Jordan, Lacey Thompson, Cindy Harrington, and Caden Sutton; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Waller and Loydene West, and a brother Maurice White.

Private family services will be held at a later date under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
