1955-2025
Patricia English Forney McDermott, 69, of Winfield, Kansas, died Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center of Ascension Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita, Kansas after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on August 12, 1955 in Coleman, Texas the daughter of William and Dorothy English Forney. Patti was raised and attended schools in Tucson, Arizona and Santa Maria, California.
She had lived in Ft. Worth, Texas where she was an editor for M.D. News. Patti moved to Winfield eight years ago where she was a salesperson at Graves Drug Store for Ideal Protein.
Remembered, loved and missed by her son Sean Jacob McDermott and grandson Cason McDermott of Ft. Worth; brother Billy “Bubba” Forney of Winfield; sisters Diane Massey and husband Jack of Dexter, Kansas and Jennifer Maurer and husband Max of Seguin, Texas.
Patti is preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and an infant son, Paul.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in Texas.
Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
