Patrick Shawn Mansfield
1967 - 2024

Patrick Shawn Mansfield, 57, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, at his home.

Born March 2, 1967, in Independence, Kansas, he was the son of Floyd “Poogie” and Ruby (Pearson) Mansfield. He was raised and received his education in Cherryvale. Following school, Pat enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He proudly served his country four years before receiving an honorable discharge.

Pat worked for the Kansas Department of Corrections for over 30 years, beginning in El Dorado, and later moving to Winfield. He climbed the ladder and reached the rank of Captain. He also worked a short time for Demo Sales Inc., a Budweiser Distributor, as a beer delivery driver.

He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. He enjoyed working out, listening to music, watching and coaching softball, fishing, shopping, and collecting watches. He liked his Tommy Bahama shirts and hosting meals and gatherings. He especially loved spending time with his family, and spending time as “Papa”. His children and grandchildren were his whole world.

His family includes his children, Cameron Mansfield and wife, Ryan of Ozawkie; Shelby Pankratz and husband, Graham of Wichita; Kerbi Feast and husband, B.J. of Andover; his mother Ruby Mansfield of Cherryvale; his sisters, Joy Mora and husband, John of Ft. Worth, TX; Julie Mansfield of Cherryvale; his grandchildren, Nora and Jack Feast, and Presley and Lennon Pankratz; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by his father and a brother Jeff Mansfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Holy Name Catholic Church. The Rosary will be prayed prior to the service at 9:30 A.M. Private burial will take place at a later date at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Miles Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 6, from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 7 that evening. A public memory sharing time will begin at 5 P.M. that evening.

A memorial has been established in Pat’s name for Holy Name Catholic Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
