Quentin “Lou” Louis Cervin
1943 - 2025

Quentin Louis “Lou” Cervin, 81, of Newkirk, Oklahoma, passed away Friday morning, April 4, 2025, at William Newton Hospital in Winfield, Kansas.

Born September 7, 1943, in Taylor, Texas, he was the son of Quentin and Bonnie Jean (Bokoskie) Cervin. Lou joined the United States Navy before the age of 18 and proudly served his country, until receiving an honorable discharge due to disability.

He was united in marriage to Laura A. Perry on May 2, 1997. The couple lived in Arkansas City and Newkirk. Lou was a member of First Baptist Church in Newkirk as well as the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, hunting, playing Bingo, and playing computer games. He was a Denver Broncos, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and Oklahoma City Thunder fan. He especially enjoyed spending time and visiting with friends.

His family includes his wife Laura Cervin of Newkirk, OK; his sons, Daniel Cervin Shilson of Osceola, WI; Derek Cervin Shilson of Osceola, WI; and Justin Perry and wife, Anna of Fort Smith, AR; his grandchildren, Alyssa Shilson, Luke Shilson, Logan Shilson, Eden Perry, Matthias Perry; great grandchild Revan Watson; and his sister Darla.

In addition to his parents, Lou was preceded in death by his step father and his parents-in-law.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 11, 2025, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment and Military Committal Honors will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Lou’s name for First Baptist Church in Newkirk. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
