Raymond Sparlin, 81, of Arkansas City, KS passed away December 30, 2024.
To honor Raymond’s wishes, no services will be held. Burial will take place in Purcell, OK. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.
Raymond was born on February 26, 1943, in Purcell, OK the son of Ray and Doris (Hortter) Sparlin. He graduated from high school and later became a conductor for the railroad. Raymond was united in marriage to Barbara Selman on July 6, 1965. He enjoyed taking care of his rental property, doing construction and building homes, camping, fishing, and especially spending time with his granddaughters.
Raymond is survived by his daughter Debbie Hite (Cameron), daughter-in-law Anita Sparlin (Corky Jones), sisters Barbara Lynn, Kay Barry, Suzie Pannell, Peggie Faulkinberry, and granddaughters, Briley Ripley (Kris), Lindsey Hall (Chris), and Ivy Sparlin (Dakota Givens), and great-grandson Krash Ripley. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and son Steve Sparlin.
