Richard L. “Dick” Golightley
1939 - 2025

Richard L. “Dick” Golightley, 85, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Born July 31, 1939, in Winfield, he was the son of Kenneth and Frances (Kemsey) Golightley. Dick was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School. Dick’s started his first job working on a farm at 12 years old. By the age of 18, he had started working in the oilfields.

Dick was united in marriage to Linda Gibb Daly on August 6, 1960 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Winfield where they resided for their entire marriage. In 1976, he started a dozer business, Dick’s Dozer Service which he ran for over 44 years until retiring in 2023.

He enjoyed camping, boating, gardening, going on his yearly fishing trip with friends, and watching TV in the shop with his cat, Raddy. Dick was an outgoing man, always getting together with friends and visiting. He loved meeting friends for coffee at McDonalds every morning. He especially enjoyed being with his kids and watching his grandchildren grow.

His family includes his wife, Linda Golightley of Winfield; his sons, Jim Golightley and wife, Tawna of Winfield; Larry Golightley of Winfield; his daughter Kim Craig and husband, Tom of Winfield; his eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a brother Bob Golightley and two sisters Barbara Counts, and Dolores Godsey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that evening.
