1941 - 2025
Ronald “Ron” Jordan, 84, of Augusta, Kansas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family.
Born in Doniphan, Missouri, on July 13, 1941, Ron was the beloved son of Luther and Ruth Jordan. He lived in Burden, Kansas, where he developed an early love for electronics, faith, and family — values that would guide him throughout his life.
Ron married his high school sweetheart, Linda, and together they shared 65 years of marriage and raised four children: Troy, Rhonda, Denise, and Vince. He worked in electronics and broadcasting, including time at Channel 3 KARD and Boeing, and later supported Congressional media operations at the capitol in Washington, D.C., and ended his career working at Windo VanGo with his two sons. He was also passionate about building and flying remote control airplanes — a pastime he shared with his family and deeply enjoyed.
Ron’s life was marked by his gentleness, humor, and unwavering love. He loved listening to Elvis, fixing computers, praying on his front porch, and sitting at Augusta Lake, but most of all — he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife Linda; four children; sister Sharon and brother-in-law, Bob; 18 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Burden Cemetery. A visitation and viewing will be held Monday, July 28, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 that evening.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Freedom Aviation Network. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
