Sandra K. McDade, 70, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025, at her home.
Born March 2, 1955, in Winfield, she was the daughter of James F. and Esther E. (Ortiz) McDade. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School. After high school, she attended Southwestern College.
She began her career as a Physical Therapist Assistant at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center, where she remained for many years until its closure in 1996. She then worked at Via Christi in Wichita and later at Presbyterian Manor in Arkansas City, retiring in 2016. After retirement, Sandee was able to complete her degree at Southwestern, graduating in 2024. She loved her dogs and enjoyed taking them for walks. She also enjoyed traveling, especially her trip to the Bahamas. Sandee was an avid Southwestern College Jinx fan. She enjoyed going to many of their athletic events and visiting with other fans.
Her family includes her three dogs, Macie Mae, Gracie Grey, Sadie Sue; her nephew Pariss McDade-Brown of Winfield; and numerous cousins.
In addition to her parents, Sandee was preceded in death by her sister Karen McDade.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family interment will be held at a later date.
A memorial has been established in Sandee’s name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
