Stacey L. Gatewood
1984 - 2025

Stacey L. Gatewood, 40, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday evening, February 25, 2025, at her home.

Born July 18, 1984, in Stillwater, Oklahoma she was the daughter of Michael D. and Diane (Hawkins) Gatewood. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 2002. While in high school, she worked as a cashier at Dillons. She then attended Oklahoma State University before transferring to Friends University where she graduated with a bachelor degree in Psychology and Human Services.

Following school, Stacey pursued a career as a Case Manager, working in both Wichita and Newton for Prairie View, TFI, and Starkeys. In 2014, she returned to Winfield and joined the Customer Service Department at Dillons. She would later transfer to the Pharmacy Department and become a Pharmaceutical Tech, a career she loved. Stacey was currently returning to school to pursue a degree in Pharmacy.

She enjoyed cooking, watching the Food Network, and traveling to various places to sample dishes from chefs that she admired. She also enjoyed Bluegrass, attending concerts, and was always up for an adventure with her family and friends.

Her family includes her parents, Mike and Diane Gatewood of Winfield; her siblings, Scotty Gatewood and wife, Kellie of Winfield; Melissa Bodkins and husband, Scott of Winfield; her aunts, Pat Gatewood of Waukomis, OK; Alyce Hawkins of Sherwood Shores, TX; her uncles, Ray Hawkins of Tuttle, OK; John Hawkins of Edmond, OK; Bruce Hawkins of Gainesville, FL; Tony Hawkins, of Weleetka, OK; her nephew, and nieces, Zachary Bodkins, Keylee Bodkins, Kelsie Gatewood, Emily Gatewood, Mallory Gatewood; her great nieces, Havynn and Adalynn; her four-legged companion, Paddington; and numerous friends and extended family.

In addition to her grandparents, Stacey was preceded in death by her Uncle Roy Hawkins, and two four-legged companions, Dallas and Kyra.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 3, 2025, at Miles Funeral Service.

Stacey was an avid animal lover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests friends to send donations of pet food, pet toys, and other pet needs to the funeral home. All items will be donated in Stacey’s honor to the Cowley County Humane Society following the service.
