Steven Wayne Boone, 73, of Winfield, KS, passed away May 11, 2026, at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita.
A come-and-go visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Saturday May 16, 2026 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Winfield. Memorials in his name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and left in the care of the funeral home.
Steven was born on February 10, 1953, in Ponca City, OK to Glenn W. and Doris M. (Pappan) Boone, he graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1971. He worked for a short time at John Deere with his father before getting his A&P license and starting his career at Cessna, where he worked for 10 years before working for GE in Winfield for 26. On June 8, 2007, he was united in marriage to the love of his life Carolyn Sue Gibson in Eureka Springs, AR. Steven enjoyed RC boats and planes, building model railroads, hot rods and drag racing, motorcycles and 3-wheelers, and he always owned a boat and enjoyed going to the lake every summer.
Steven is survived by his wife Sue, son Taylor Boone, daughter Kelley Tillotson, grandchildren Chase Eagan and Corbin Eagan, great-grandchildren Tyson and Raiden, brother Curtis Boone and sister Genie Burns.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
