1958 - 2026
Timothy A. Welch, 67, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday morning, January 9, 2026, at his home.
Born April 25, 1958, in Arlington, Virginia, he was the son of Eugene and Elizabeth Welch. He lived with his parents in Mound, Minnesota before being admitted to the Kansas Neurological Institute in Topeka, Kansas at the age of three. He moved to the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center in 1978 and to his CCL home, now Capper Foundation in December 1997. He enjoyed going for rides, watching tv, especially westerns, and any activities that involved music and social interactions.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, his step mother Judy Welch, and a sister Robin.
He is survived by siblings, Hap Welch of Rockton, IL; Davi Pollock of Jacksonville, FL; Victoria Huff of St. Peter, MN; Stacy Kerr of Oxford; Matt Welch of Forney, TX; and caregivers and roommates at Capper Foundation.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Miles Funeral Service. Private burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
