About Central Christian Church
Central Christian Church of Arkansas City is a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), which states: "We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord's Table as God has welcomed us."
Central Christian Church has a long heritage. It was established in 1877. Its history is rooted in the larger fellowship of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) . The Christian Church was born on the frontier in the midst of a divided church. Its birth was an effort to unite followers of Christ through the restoration of the New Testament teachings and practices.
Our belief reflects a blending of American idealism and New Testament Christianity. We have long cherished the basic convictions "We are Christians only, not the only Christians." We are a congregationally governed body that owns its own property, elects its own officers, and plans its own program of worship, fellowship, and service. All of the Church's mission, program, and business is the responsibility of the entire membership of the congregation. We welcome all by transfer of membership (either by statement or letter), or by confession of faith and baptism.
OUR CORE BELIEFS
