Cowley College and Ark City High School recently partnered to host a Boy’s Basketball Team Camp.
According to a news release from the college Wednesday, a total of 16 teams participated in the camp, with the Wichita South High School team finishing as the Gold Bracket champions. Carnegie, out of Oklahoma, finished as runner-up, with Salina South High School finishing third..
The Tonkawa Bucs were Silver Bracket champions, with Oxford High School placing second and Central-Burden High School finishing third.
“Congratulations to Wichita South and Tonkawa for winning their respective brackets,” Cowley College Men’s Basketball Head Coach Donnie Jackson said. “We had an excellent turnout of teams for our Team Camp, which is partnered with Ark City High School and boy’s basketball head coach CJ Jennings.
“We saw some very competitive games and good talent.”
The 16 teams at the camp were: Wichita South, Ark City, Winfield, El Dorado, Ponca City, Salina South, Tonkawa, Carnegie, Oxford, Burden, Wichita Independent, Blackwell, Maize South sub-varsity, Ark City sub-varsity, Winfield sub-varsity, and Salina South sub-varsity.
“We appreciate all of the teams who participated and are looking forward to doing it again next summer,” Jackson said.
