Two days after hitting the game-winning shot for the AfterShocks, former Cowley College and Iowa State University standout Tyrus McGee led the team with 13 points.

Still, it was not enough as the AfterShocks had their run at the TBT (The Basketball Tournament) come to an end with a 76-53 loss to team HeartFire Tuesday night in front of a TBT record-breaking crowd of 7,202 inside Wichita State University’s Charles Koch Arena.

McGee went 5-of-9 from the floor and 3-of-7 from three-point range, but McGee’s solid shooting could not help the AfterShocks overcome its 20 turnovers.

The HeartFire, led by Tevin Mack’s game-high 17 points, made 13-of-27 three-point attempts and turned the ball over just five times while leading at the end of each quarter.

The loss snapped a 10-game home winning streak for the AfterShocks dating back to 2019.

The Heartfire advance to play in the TBT Semifinal in Philadelphia, PA.

Former Butler Grizzly Caleb Walker, and Hutchinson Blue Dragon Samajae Haynes-Jones, joined McGee as three Jayhawk Conference players on the AfterShocks roster. Eric Griffin, who formerly played at Garden City Community College, scored nine points for Heartfire.
