Winning its sixth match in a row, the top-ranked Cowley College women’s tennis team blasted No. 9 Barton County 9-0 on Saturday in Great Bend.
No Cowley player was threatened in the match, as they dropped only one game in doubles and did not lose a set on the day.
This was Cowley’s third 9-0 victory during its current win streak.
Before Saturday, the Tigers took on Washburn last week in Topeka. Cowley defeated the Ichabods — ranked No. 3 in NCAA Div. II — 6-3.
“The girls once again dominated in all singles and doubles matches,” Cowley Head Coach Arianna Raga said. “We are moving in the right direction and will continue to work hard to achieve our goals this season.”
Cowley will attempt to make it seven wins in a row when they play at fifth-ranked Seward County on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Liberal.
