No. 6 Builders suffer first loss via Kansas Wesleyan

The Southwestern College men’s basketball team suffered its first defeat of the season Tuesday night in Winfield.

The No. 6 Moundbuilders were bested 96-92 by Kansas Wesleyan (9-4) in the KCAC contest.

SC’s Cevin Clark led the Builders (11-1) with 22 points and five rebounds. Mason Thiessen wasn’t too far behind Clark with 21 points, seven boards and a block for Southwestern.

Jarvis Jennings tallied 19 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Andrew O’Brien posted a double-double with 18 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

KWU’s Alex Littlejohn led the night with a game-high 31 points.

SC was outscored in the first half 57-46.

The Moundbuilders will be on the road at McPherson College (10-3), Saturday at 5 p.m. The SC women, who fell to Kansas Wesleyan (6-7) 81-68, and will play McPherson (4-9) at 3.
