The Southwestern College football team will kickoff its season Saturday night as the No. 11 team in the country in the NAIA.
The defending KCAC champion Moundbuilders are the highest-ranked KCAC team in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 poll, released earlier this week. Other KCAC teams in the Top 25 include Avila at No. 18, Kansas Wesleyan at No. 21 and Bethel at No. 23.
Evangel — the newest addition to the KCAC out of Missouri — received votes.
The Builders were 9-2 last year and made the NAIA playoffs.
Thursday, SC was well-represented on the All-KCAC Preseason Team with seven selections.
The Moundbuilders kick off their season at home Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Richard L. Jantz Stadium in Winfield.
The game will be broadcast live on 95.5 Bob FM and audio streamed for free online at cowleypost.com.
