SC men vault to No. 13 in latest NAIA poll

The Southwestern College Moundbuilders men’s basketball team has moved up to No. 13 in the latest NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.

The Builders (2-0), have defeated Randall University, 124-67, and Central Christian College at OKC, 80-69.

SC was previous ranked No. 20.

Senior Cevin Clark, a first-team NAIA All-American, has put up 53 points so far over the season’s first two games.

Andrew O’Brien, another senior, has notched 17 assists, averaging 8.5 assists per game plus 22 rebounds per contest. So far he’s averaging 10.5 points per game.

SC is on the road in Lawrence this week for the Ernie Stevens Jr. Classic on the campus of Haskell Indian Nations University.

Southwestern will play Haskell Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Park University on Friday at 5:30 p.m., and finally on Sunday, Baptist Bible College, at 2:30 p.m.

The Builders will return to the airwave next Wednesday on 95.9 Bob FM at 7 p.m. when SC hosts York for Military Appreciation Night in Stewart Field House in Winfield with Curt Caden on the call.
