Coming off a successful 2022 season that resulted in an NJCAA National Tournament appearance, a sixth-place finish, a Plains District Championship, and a 40-5 overall record, the Cowley College volleyball team is expected to once again contend for the conference title as they were picked second behind only defending conference champion Johnson County.

Cowley lost only one conference game during the 2022 season, a three-set heartbreaker against Johnson County. The two teams should be battling it out once again during the 2023 campaign.

Kansas City Kansas Community College was picked third and is followed by Coffeyville and Neosho County. Independence, Allen, Fort Scott, Highland, Labette, and Hesston round out the preseason picks in the Jayhawk East.

Cowley will host the Orange and Black Scrimmage on Friday, August 11, and will open the regular season by hosting Pratt Community College Thursday, August 17, at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Tigers will play at Johnson County at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 11.
