KBI: Human Remains Found In Allen And Wilson Counties

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is looking into two cases in adjacent counties where humans remains were believed to be found.

According to separate recent news releases from the KBI, human remains were found in Wilson County in southeast Kansas and also in Allen County, directly northeast.

At approximately 6:50 p.m. Thursday, out-of-state hunters called 911 after encountering human remains in a pasture. Deputies from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the location, approximately a mile south of Coyville, near Decatur Road. Upon arriving, deputies observed the human skeletal remains.

At around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, a man who was searching for antler sheds called 911 when he discovered what he believed were human remains. Deputies from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area, east of Humboldt, near Arizona Road and 1800th Street. Upon arrival they found human skeletal remains.

No identities for the remains have been released and autopsies are scheduled for both cases. Investigations are ongoing.
