Oklahoma voters turned down the legalization of recreational marijuana Tuesday.
The “no” vote for State Question 820 was nearly 62-percent, or just over 349,000 votes statewide. There were 217,000 votes in support of the measure. Overall, turnout of registered voters was just over 25 percent.
In Kay County, 68-percent of voters (4,583) rejected the measure.
In 2018, 56-percent of Oklahoma voters passed the legalization of medicinal marijuana.
There are 21 states in the U.S. where recreational cannabis use is legal.
