Winfield’s new police station and civic center will be publicly unveiled at an event on March 3. A ribbon cutting, flag raising and open-house tours will be offered that day.
Early in the evening, the Winfield City Commission will host its first-ever meeting in the new civic center space. The ribbon cutting is scheduled for 2 p.m., with tours to follow from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The city commission meeting will then be held, followed by additional tours from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. All events are open to the public.
Designed in collaboration with architects from Agora Architecture of Winfield and constructed by Dondlinger Construction of Wichita, the new facility is meant to provide essential updates and enhancements to support the police department’s operational needs.
The civic center space is multipurpose including a dedicated training area for Fire-EMS and Police as well as space for Municipal Court operations, the City Commission and the various appointed volunteer boards of the community. Continue story below ad.
Members of the public are invited to join city officials, community leaders, and law enforcement personnel at the ribbon-cutting ceremony and for the inaugural meeting of the City Commission in the new space.
As part of the ceremony, a video presentation and guided tours of the new facility will be available, offering attendees an opportunity to explore the features of both the new civic center space and the police station.
