UPDATE: The pedestrian involved in the February 28, 2026 accident on US 77 Highway at 242nd Road has been identified as Kasey Joe Barclay, 32, formerly of Ponca City, Oklahoma. Next of kin notification has been completed.
The driver of the silver 2014 Nissan Rogue has been identified as Stacy Gisick, 62, of Wichita.
The accident remains under investigation. No additional information is available for release at this time.

A pedestrian was killed Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. 77, according to the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched at approximately 7:20 p.m. to the intersection of U.S. 77 and 242nd Road for a reported injury accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Authorities said a silver Nissan Rogue traveling northbound on U.S. 77 struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway. The pedestrian sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the pedestrian has not been released as officials work to notify next of kin.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The crash remains under investigation.
