Anthony Whetstone, a teacher and coach at Arkansas City High School, has been reinstated to his job after being placed on paid leave earlier this month.
USD 470 notified parents this week that, “after a thorough review, the district has reinstated a high school staff member who has been on administrative leave. This decision follows a careful and comprehensive review process.” The district said it remains committed to maintaining “a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for every student and staff member.”
Whetstone had been under investigation after allegations he made inappropriate remarks about the Sept. 10 shooting of national political figure Charlie Kirk. He denied making those comments.
USD 465 in Winfield was involved because Whetstone worked for them but worked at ACHS.
