A community-focused organization is inviting local residents to take part in a paid 12-week program aimed at strengthening neighborhood connections and developing grassroots leadership.
The The Neighboring Movement is accepting participants for its Community Animator Network, or CAN, a program centered on building relationships and identifying strengths within local neighborhoods.
According to the organization, the program is based on Asset-Based Community Development, an approach that focuses on using existing community skills and resources to drive local change.
Participants will take part in three in-person workshops and weekly online coaching sessions. The program also includes small projects designed to encourage interaction among neighbors and increase civic engagement. Continue below ad.
Organizers say participants will learn how to identify community assets, connect residents and support locally driven efforts.
The program requires a commitment of about three to five hours per week. Those who complete the course may be eligible for an advanced phase that includes working on a community-based project.
