Students from Cowley County and several surrounding communities were among the recipients announced this week as the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas awarded more than $367,000 in scholarships for 2026.
According to a release from the foundation, a total of $367,462 was awarded through 44 scholarship opportunities to 148 students pursuing higher education. CFSEK said more than 900 applications were submitted this year. Continue below ad.
Several area students receiving scholarships included:
- Braden Norwood of Arkansas City, who received the Bill House Agricultural Scholarship and plans to attend Oklahoma State University.
- Madison McGee of Arkansas City, who also received the Bill House Agricultural Scholarship and plans to attend Oklahoma State University.
- Kennedy Holcomb of Dexter, who received the Bill House Agricultural Scholarship and plans to attend Redlands Community College.
- Kyndel Randall of Dexter, who received the Bill House Agricultural Scholarship and plans to attend Bethel College.
- Wade Martin of Dexter, who received the Bill House Agricultural Scholarship and plans to attend Kansas State University.
- Wyatt Martin of Dexter, who received the Bill House Agricultural Scholarship and plans to attend Pratt Community College.
- William Adcock of Sedan, who received the Bill House Agricultural Scholarship and plans to attend Clarendon Community College.
- Peyton Morris of Sedan, who received the Mullendore–Butler Endowed Scholarship and plans to attend the University of Arkansas.
- Tialyn Vanderpool of Sedan, who received the Mullendore–Butler Endowed Scholarship and plans to attend Cowley County Community College.
- Aiden Campbell of Cedar Vale, who received the Mullendore–Butler Endowed Scholarship and plans to attend Cowley County Community College.
The Community Foundation said it awarded more than $2.8 million in grants in 2025 and has facilitated more than $29 million in total grants since its founding in 2001.
