Two Ponca City men were arrested Sept. 14 after a series of vehicle burglaries in north Arkansas City.
Police said officers were called around 3 a.m. to North A Street after reports of a suspicious person and discovered vehicles had been entered and items stolen. Later that morning, officers found Thomas Mitchell Pritchard, 29, in a vehicle on North B Street. He was arrested on drug charges.
Pritchard told police he had dropped off a friend, Aaron Ashton Keith Holt, 30, who was suspected in the burglaries. Holt fled on foot but was captured after a search. Police said Holt had entered multiple vehicles and led officers to stashed stolen property.
Holt was booked into the Cowley County Jail on burglary, theft and interference charges, with bond set at $12,000. He remained in custody as of Monday afternoon. Pritchard, whose bond was set at $2,000, has been released.
Police urged residents to lock vehicles and keep valuables out of sight.
