2-Vehicle accident north of Winfield City Lake injures 3; Atlanta resident airlifted to Wichita

An Atlanta resident was airlifted to a Wichita hospital following a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning north of the Winfield City Lake.

According to Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti, a northbound white Ford F-150 pickup failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of 32nd road and 151st and hit a Chevy Cruz passenger car.

The pickup rolled into a bean field and the car ended up in a ditch.

An Atlanta resident was the driver of the car and was airlifted to Wichita.

The driver of the pickup was a Southwestern College student from Manhattan and was transported via ambulance to William Newton Hospital in Winfield.

A passenger from the car was transported to Wichita via ambulance.
