A 21-year-old Ark City man was arrested last Saturday for DUI and other charges following an investigation into multiple hit-and-run accidents within the city.
Gunner Chase Cravens was arrested and booked into the Cowley County Jail with bond set at $1,200. He has since posted that bond and been released.
On the evening of May 25, the Arkansas City Police Department responded to multiple reports of a reckless driver in a gray Ford truck in the area of Chestnut Ave. and 5th St. The vehicle was reported to be striking several vehicles and objects.
Officers responded and discovered that the gray Ford truck had been involved in another accident in the 400 block of N. 3rd Street, where it had come to a stop. An investigation began into the multiple accidents reported and it was determined the same gray truck was responsible for each. Cravens was then arrested.
Police discovered damage to three vehicles in the 200 block of N. 5th, damage to a vehicle and mailbox in the 400 block of W. Birch Ave., a damaged mailbox in the 700 block of N. 3rd and damage to a tree and mailbox in the 400 block of N. 3rd St.
Booking charges for Cravens included DUI and three counts of failing to report an accident.
