Southwestern moved up a spot for the second consecutive week in the latest NAIA Top 25 football poll.
The undefeated Moundbuilders were ranked No. 7 in the nation in Monday’s latest NAIA FirstDown PlayBook Coaches’ Top 25 Rating.
SC won on the road Saturday in Leavenworth 36-20 against Saint Mary to improve to 6-0.
Only one other team in the poll — No. 18 Evangel, a fellow KCAC member — is 6-0.
Northwestern, out of Iowa, remains No. 1 at 5-0.
The Builders will again be on the road for their next matchup next Saturday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. in Wichita against Friends.
The Falcons are 5-1 following their 55-17 win at Sterling (1-5). Outside Friends’ 35-28 loss in Salina on Sept. 16 against Kansas Wesleyan (4-2), the Falcons have outscored their opponents 258-90 with an average margin of victory of 33.6 points.
