An Ark City man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover accident last week, according to a news release from Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti late Wednesday morning.
Mark Wilson, 75, was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no passengers.
Deputies responded to the 4000 block of 322nd Road at 11:54 p.m. Thursday night for the report of a traffic accident. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Wilson crashed his car, a newer model Dodge Challenger, into a tree row.
Lt. Tommy Scott told Cowley Post Wilson was just a couple miles from his home south of Ark City and that were was no evidence of impairment.
Scott said it appeared the car drifted off the roadway.
According to his obituary, Wilson was born in Winfield and attended Ark City High School where he graduated in 1966. He continued his education at Cowley County Community College, achieving his Electronics Technician degree.
He worked until his retirement at Creekstone Farms as an electrician in the maintenance department.
