An Ark City man died late Friday night in an accident north of South Haven in Sumner County, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Jordan L. Wade, 22, was dead at the scene of the single-vehicle accident that occurred just before 9:30 p.m. A passenger in the vehicle, Spencer White, 23, of Ark City, was transported to a Wichita hospital for treatment.

An update on his condition was not immediately available this morning.

Wade was westbound in a 2015 Cadillac ATS passenger car and failed to stop at the junction of U.S. 166 and U.S. 81 highways. The vehicle went through the intersection and into a ditch where it rolled one-and-a-half times before striking a tree on the driver side, according to KHP.

The Cadillac came to rest on all four wheels.
