Ark City Fire/EMS responded to a structure fire Wednesday night.
According to a news release from the department Thursday afternoon, firefighters were dispatched to the 400 block of South A at approximately 8:15 p.m.
Upon arrival at the scene, crews discovered a garage apartment engulfed in heavy flames. Once the fire was contained, crews remained on the scene for three hours to extinguish all hot spots.
Winfield Fire/EMS provided additional support.
The estimated damage resulting from the incident is $45,000. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
