ACMS Celebrates Successful Food Drive; Top Student Collectors Pie Teachers

Ark City Middle School students recently collected 17,056 food items for the annual Richard Potterton Food Drive — 2,570 more than last year, according to USD 470 Tuesday morning.

Sixth Grade collected the most items for first place and the student who collected the most was Georgia Behrens with 841 food items.

The following students each collected over 500 items and got to pie a teacher of their choice in the face.

Jaycie Larson – pied Mr. Soule
Natalie Fleig – pied Mr. Fleig
Austin Schwartz – pied Mr. Phillips

“Thank you to everyone who donated to the food drive,” the district said. “Items will be distributed to Angels in the Attic, Inc. and Manna Ministries to help support Ark City families during the holiday season and beyond.”
