An Ark City man was arrested after midnight Wednesday after a disturbance call led to the discovery of 17 marijuana plants.
According to a news release from the ACPD, officers from the Arkansas City Police Department were called to 1030 N. 5th Street for the report of a disturbance at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday.
At this location, officers made contact with the parties involved including the homeowner.
While investigating the disturbance, officers identified items inside the residence associated with the growing of cannabis. The homeowner was identified as 62-year-old Stanford Shapley.
Shapley was questioned about the items located. A search warrant was served on the residence where 17 marijuana plants, methamphetamine, cultivating paraphernalia, and drug paraphernalia were located and collected as evidence.
Shapley was arrested for possession of marijuana with the Intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia for cultivating a controlled substance. He is currently being held at the Cowley County Jail on a bond of $18,500.
