The Ark City Police Department and local neighborhoods will once again be coming together to celebrate National Night Out next week.

It will be the 39th year for National Night Out.

The kickoff party in Ark City will be Monday, Oct. 2, from 5-8 p.m. at Wilson Park.

In addition to the kickoff party, ACPD encourages residents to host neighborhood block parties on Tuesday as part of the ongoing commitment to building safer and more connected neighborhoods.

Residents can email [email protected] or call 620-441-6601 to register their block party. The deadline for registration is tomorrow.

“National Night Out is a fantastic way to unite residents for an evening of unity, camaraderie, and fun.” ACPD Chief Eric Burr said in a press release from the department. “All citizens of Arkansas City must be aware of the importance of crime prevention programs and the impact their participation can have on reducing crime, drugs, and violence in Arkansas City.”
