ACPD still seeking leads regarding public works shop burglary last summer

Authorities are still seeking leads on a case that involved the burglary of the Ark City Public Works shop last summer.

According to the ACPD, the City of Arkansas City’s Public Works Shop at 1407 W. Madison Ave was the victim of burglary, theft and criminal damage to property on July 25, 2022.

Officers learned that on July 24, at approximately 3:43 a.m., an unknown subject was seen inside the fenced area of the public works shop. Security footage was available which helped officers identify how the suspect entered and exited the facility.

The suspect entered the building and took items from inside, including a Stihl leaf blower, Stihl pole saws, Stihl weed eaters and numerous other items.

In total, it was reported that the suspect stole $15,800 worth of property.
