Local authorities are advising vendors and local businesses to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills as the 90th Arkalalah festival continues into the weekend in Ark City.
According to a post from the Ark City Police Department’s Facebook page Friday morning, the paper these bills are printed on does feel different from normal currency. There is an area whited-out on both the front and back of the suspect bills.
“As a vendor, business owner or cashier, please take a moment to inspect bills larger that $20 and always feel free to call us at (620) 441-4547 if you need assistance,” the ACPD posted. “If you have information about these bills, please contact us or text COWLEYTIPS to 847411 to make an anonymous tip to Cowley County Crime Stoppers You could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500.”
