City of Arkansas City Human Resources Director Marla McFarland has been recognized as one of the top HR professionals in the region, receiving the 2025 Wichita Business Journal HR Professionals Award.
The 13th annual HR Professionals Awards celebrate individuals who play a vital role in talent acquisition and retention while going above and beyond to serve their companies and employees. This year’s honorees were recognized during a luncheon at Equity Bank Park in Wichita on February 13 where 27 outstanding HR professionals were celebrated for their leadership and contributions.

I am fortunate to work with an amazing team that values collaboration, growth, and innovation. This award reflects our collective commitment to making the City of Arkansas City a great place to work.”
Over the past decade, the Wichita Business Journal has honored more than 235 HR leaders who exemplify excellence in their field. McFarland’s recognition further highlights the commitment of Arkansas City’s leadership to prioritizing its workforce.
