Recovery continues for a 21-year-old Ark City man who sustained broken bones and road rash in a motorcycle accident last week.
Haydan Stone was released from a Wichita hospital over the weekend, according to his wife, Kaylynn. She credits him wearing a helmet and long sleeve shirt for preventing more serious injuries.
The accident occurred around 5 p.m. Thursday in the 8000 block of 312th Rd. south of Ark City. He was thrown over the handlebars of the bike.
Haydan Stone is expected to need surgery to repair injuries to his arm, but should make a full recovery. He was initially transported to SCK Medical Center by ambulance and then sent to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for further treatment.
Kaylynn said her husband was able to dial her number on his phone and tell her of the accident before emergency crews arrived. Haydan struck a rock in the roadway with his back tire and lost control of the motorcycle.
