A 20-year-old Ark City man was arrested for DUI Saturday morning following a rollover accident at the East Madison underpass.
Christopher Jerome Fischer was booked into the Cowley County Jail just before 8 a.m. In addition to DUI, he also faces a charge for consumption of alcohol by a minor. He posted $1,300 bond and was released later that same day.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the location of the accident just before 7:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a red Chevrolet pickup truck had overturned. Fischer had already exited the vehicle and appeared to have sustained only minor injuries.
EMS personnel evaluated Fischer at the scene and he declined further treatment.
Officers suspected Fischer was under the influence of alcohol. A DUI investigation was initiated, including field sobriety testing. Fischer was then arrested.
