Ark City senior Kinzie Perdue has broken a school record in the high jump that stood for 34 years.

Perdue recorded a jump of 5 feet 6 inches in the Elite Division of the Shocker Pre-State Challenge held Friday at Cessna Stadium in Wichita. The previous record of 5 feet 5 inches was set by Marla Williams back in 1991.

The jump, according to Sports in Kansas, puts Perdue at number one in 5A and tied for second in all classes this season.

Track & Field head coach Matt Koehn said that in addition to the high jump record, Kinzie is also the 400m record holder with a time of 59.25 and a member of the school record-holding 4×100 Relay.
